Jindal Steel operates TMT rebar mills at Angul, Odisha and Patratu, Jharkhand, with capacities of 1.4 MTPA and 1.0 MTPA respectively, together delivering over 2.4 MTPA. These facilities are equipped with globally benchmarked technologies from SMS Meer in Germany and Morgan in the USA, enabling high-speed rolling and process control for consistent production across a wide range of rebar sizes and grades.
The mills utilise HYQST (High Yield Quenching and Self Tempering) and QST (Quenching and Self Tempering) processes, combining controlled rolling, rapid quenching and self-tempering to achieve a refined microstructure with a strong outer layer and a ductile core. This metallurgical balance enhances strength, ductility and performance under seismic and cyclic loading conditions.
Backed by integrated steelmaking and controlled chemistry with low sulphur and phosphorus levels, the process ensures clean steel, dimensional accuracy and uniform mechanical properties across batches.
